There is less “testing” within a review engagement, with the focus being on whether the balances and transactions are in line with expectations. A review provides less assurance than an audit however can be perfect when a business is looking to demonstrate the financial statements have been looked at by an independent person and can result in finance cost savings, or to reassure prospective investors and other interested parties.
